Welcome!

Welcome to MOPS at Oakbrook Community Church. MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, a program designed to nuture mothers with children from infancy through kindergarten. We are so glad you are visiting our site. We hope you find information and inspiration here. We are a group of moms dedicated to meeting the needs of every mother of preschools. Moms need moms. They need to know they are not alone - that there are other mothers facing challenges, loneliness, and heartfelt desire to be the best mom they can possibly be.

the HOME factor

As a Mom it is important to create a home that is inviting and reenergizing and create a space for your family to bond and grow. During the coming MOPS year, we will be learning how to make our house a home.

This summer the MOPS at Oakbrook Steering Team has been planning the new year. The Steering Team is very excited about this year and hopes it will be bigger and better than last year. So join us for a great time.

The MOPS theme this year is Adventures in Mothering!

We hope that you will join us this year, to not only enjoy time to yourself, but also to build friendships, learn & share ideas, hear speakers & complete crafts. As well as grow as you learn more about Christ and His promises to us.

What is MOPS?

The purpose of MOPS is to nurture every mother of preschoolers by meeting her distinct needs to
the glory of Jesus Christ.

MOPS exists for every mom - urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms,
teen, single, and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be
the very best moms they can be!

MOPS is about...
     -Celebrating motherhood
     -Meeting needs
     -Making connections
     -Experiencing God's love
...through relationships and resources.

The Nine Needs of Every Mother

-Significance: "Sometimes I wonder if mothering matters."
-Identity: "Sometimes I'm not sure who I am."
-Growth: "Sometimes I long to develop who I am."
-Intimacy: "Sometimes I long to be understood."
-Instruction: "Sometimes I don't know what to do."
-Help: "Sometimes I need to share the load."
-Recreation: "Sometimes I need a break."
-Perspective: "Sometimes I lose my focus."
-Hope: "Sometimes I wonder if there's more to life."

Our MOPS group strives to meet all these needs through teaching, crafts, discussions and time with other moms..

MOPS at Oakbrook Communtiy Church meets two Wednesdays a month from 9:00 am - 11:15 am. During the MOPS meeting, your children will be cared for in our MOPPETS programs by our loving workers.
